It was March 2002, Vienna, Austria. Steve Hill had been invited to participate in a large crusade with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. The scene in Austria was similar to what Steve had experienced in many crusades in the United States and around the world: the altars filled with hundreds of people crying out to God in repentance and committing their lives to Christ.

One afternoon as Steve was preparing to minister in that crusade, the Lord suddenly spoke. "My sheep need a fold." Steve knew what the Lord was saying. This confirmed what had been burning in his heart for months. He and Jeri had planted churches in Argentina, Columbia, Russia and Spain. They'd seen hundreds of thousands come to Christ in two major revivals and as they ministered around the world. Now it was time to raise up a church in America where people would not only be saved, but also pastored, discipled, and trained. Not to warm a church pew, but to shake this world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

With this vision and directive, Heartland World Ministries Church was launched. On Sunday, September 14, 2003, Heartland officially began holding church services in the Carroll Senior High School auditorium, located in Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Southlake. A year later Sunday services were moved to the Colleyville Heritage High School.

In 2005, Heartland purchased a beautiful 40,000 square foot building in Las Colinas, which is now home to this rapidly growing church. Heartland's twelve pastors and numerous lay leaders oversee a wide range of ministries, enabling them to effectively minister to the diverse needs of the congregation.

From the very beginning, Heartland has experienced the same thing that Pastor Steve and Jeri had seen for years as they'd ministered around the world: the altars filled with people getting right with God, and lives being transformed by His awesome power!

People are amazed at what God is doing at Heartland. Lives are being saved, healed, delivered and set ablaze for Jesus. Whole families are coming to the Lord. Marriages restored. Men who've been spiritually complacent are now on fire for God. Children are being powerfully touched. Teenagers are having encounters with God. Sons and daughters are answering the call to fulltime ministry and receiving training at the Heartland School of Ministry. Believers are growing in God and discovering that they, too, can win people to Christ and be used of God. Their excitement is contagious!

Heartland is a church for your whole family. And so much more. We believe that the greatest days in church history are on the horizon. And the people of Heartland are preparing for those days!
